A pinch of salt for a pretty watercolor background

I saw this idea for a watercolor background in the spring 2014 CardMaker magazine

I am calling it - A pinch of salt for a watercolor background

Stamp set: Lovely as a tree, simply sketched, blooming with kindness (used on inside)

Paper: Water color paper, midnight muse, notecards & envelopes

Ink: Marina mist ink refill, pear pizzazz refill, midnight muse inkpad, black stazon

Other: Big shot, banner framelits, silver bakers twine

Notes: Use an aqua painter to wet the piece of watercolor paper, add drops of ink refill onto the wet watercolor paper, use the aqua painter to spread out the color across the watercolor paper, add a dash of salt, let dry and brush off the salt, then stamp the trees in black stazon and finish the card. What a fun background!

Surprise in a box

I enjoyed creating the surprise in a box card. Such a fun project and there are so many fun things you could put in it. I like that it folds flat and fits in a regular envelope too.

For the box start with a 9 x 5 ½ base, score at 2 1/8, 4 ¼, 6 3/8, 8 ½, turn and score at 2 ¾, cut the 4 score lines up to the 2 ¾ score line on one side, add sticky strip to the narrow ½ area to form your box. I stamped the outside of the box, add dsp (1 7/8 x 2 1/2 ) to three of the flaps, add a 5 ¼ x 1 7/8 to the back of the last flap (you can sign your card here and add greetings. Take a 3 1/8 square and score at 1/2, and 2 5/8, cut in half, fold in a “z”, add sticky strip and place on the inside of the box, this is where you will add the flowers for your bouquet, mount the stamped/punched flowers on ½ x 3 ½ strips of window sheet. Make your card in a box anything (flowers, hearts, balloons, Easter eggs, so many fun things to add to the box). It fits in a regular envelope!
